Setauket Parents Playschool is a not-for-profit cooperative preschool located in the heart of the Three Village School District. For more than forty years, our small and well-known school has provided a warm, nurturing environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow.
The school is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents whose children are currently enrolled. Working closely with our teaching staff, the board oversees the by-laws and the general operation of the school. Board members are elected by the parent community and include a Chairperson/Registrar, Treasurer, and Fundraising Coordinator.
As a cooperative preschool, parent participation is an important part of our community. Families contribute by providing a healthy snack and assisting with light clean-up at the end of the school day (approximately 15 minutes) about once every two months. Parents may also volunteer to help in the classroom if a teacher is absent.
Throughout the year, parents are asked to attend approximately three Parent-Board meetings. Babysitting is provided for your convenience. These meetings offer an opportunity to stay connected, share ideas, and take part in the continued growth of our school community.
